Agent Brian Decker is a starting Agent.
Decker[]
Starting Equipment[]
Decker's custom augment, Neural Networking, allows him to identify a Daemon in any adjacent mainframe device. He begins with Speed 2, a standard Neural Disrupter, and a unique Modded Cloaking Rig, which works like a Cloaking Rig II but has a reduced Speed requirement.
Strategy[]
Decker's augment can be used to allow a more educated decision on how to deal with Daemons - for instance, hacking any visible devices before triggering a Modulate daemon, or opening any nearby safes before triggering an Authority daemon. This usefulness can be leveraged further by equipping Decker with EMP devices to disable critical daemons. Since he will be needing to stand adjacent to objects to scan them, Decker is also frequently in a position to make good use of Buster Chips.
Decker's Modded Cloaking Rig is useful as a starting item, especially for newer players who might find themselves frequently landing themselves in danger. Decker is usually able to take advantage of Holocircuit Overload or Chameleon Movement augments, and, if the player chooses to give him additional cooldown items, Torque Injectors.
Archive Decker[]
Starting Equipment[]
Archive Decker's custom augment, Sensory Injector, grants 2 AP whenever he is noticed by an enemy, including simply standing in peripheral vision. This will not trigger on being spotted by a camera, but will be triggered by drones. He begins with Speed 2, a standard Neural Disrupter, and a unique firearm - the Refurbished Revolver. This item is functionally similar to a Hand Cannon, inflicting lethal damage with no inherent armor piercing. It differs in having the largest clip in the game, holding 6 bullets. However, it can never be reloaded, becoming useless once emptied.
Strategy[]
Archive Decker is a fairly versatile character, though his playstyle is somewhat geared towards desperation plays due to his augment and usage of a lethal weapon. Archive Decker thrives most when a mission has gone bad and guards are already Hunting around, and their peripheral visions can be dodged through for large boosts to AP.
If one wanted to focus on this playstyle, Archive Decker would benefit from an Optical Enhancement for armored targets, or Anatomy Analysis to avoid Heart Monitor penalties. A secondary weapon capable of reloading, such as a Hand Cannon, would be a useful addition to his loadout. If his gun is kept loaded until the last mission, its huge ammo capacity could help in a pure firefight.
